Originally, TGW was going to stay out of the field of basic about-firearm-X articles. World.guns.ru and Wikipedia are generally better at that. However, a lot of subjects are either not being covered at all elsewhere, or are being covered without a technical slant. This is a gap we'll fill if no one else will.
Legal Information
Over at the Just The Law section, is where we mirror the text of actual laws for citation purposes. That is the only section which constitutes actual legal information. The remainder of the writings on the main Gunwiki web are all editorial content, which you should use as starting points for your own research rather than simply believing.
Although most gun questions end up touching on law sooner or later, one of Gunwiki's primary focuses is on helping folks avoid accidentally breaking state or federal laws. Because even most non-violent gun crimes (i.e. misconfiguration of a rifle) can be prosecuted as felonies, it's very important to remain rigorously within the law in order to retain your hobby.
Search Terms: the Q&A Section
TGW processes incoming Google/Yahoo/whatnot searches and mails a daily summary of them to me. This gives an idea what the public wants to know about, and provides a means to improve TGW's content by writing the content which people are hoping to learn. Search Terms columns are presented as an open monthly snapshot of what folks are asking TGW for. See this article if you're curious about why this is done, and the mechanisms which drive it.

Disclaimer and Privacy Policy
Read GunWiki for disclaimer information and the Privacy Policy. This site is a reference only. You should clear any procedures you wish to undertake with gunsmiths, attorneys, reloaders, or physicists (as appropriate) before undertaking anything you read on this site.
Please note that this is the only page in the Gunwiki web which is restricted from editing. For whatever reason, it's the main page which spammers create accounts to add links to their sites with, so I've finally just locked it off. Should you have any legitimate change requests for this page, feel free to leave a comment with what you'd suggest adding to the top of the site (i.e. a link to a new article of yours, etc).
