Gunwiki's Law Mirror

For convenience when citing in articles, I have decided to mirror the text of various laws which affect firearms. This web is only writeable by Gunwiki administrators, as there is no good reason for the average person off the street to be able to EDIT a section of penal code. One may argue that there is also no reason for a Gunwiki administrator to be able to mirror it, but the simple fact is that laws are frequently difficult to maintain links to. Various law sites change their URLs regularly. Each mirrored section of law on this site will include a link to a source which should be considered more authoritative, and users are encouraged to follow that link instead of relying solely upon the mirrored copy on this site. Full attribution to sources will be provided; it is not the intention of this site to interfere with the traffic of other sites.

This will make article citations MUCH easier, because writers will only have to link to a section of law ONCE. If the link changes or the law changes, the article in this web can be updated without the need to hunt up all the other citations on Gunwiki.

This site is by NO means providing legal advice, and NO warranty, express or implied, is provided that these mirrored sections of law are in fact accurate or current. The law changes regularly, and this is only a research tool.

Please note that the summaries written on THIS page are only for aid in finding specific sections of law, and are the only commentary which will be in this section of Gunwiki. Commentary within the law copies is forbidden and should be reported via "Leave a Comment" if discovered.

Federal Law

Title 1 USC 922(r) - prohibiting the importation, assembly, etc of non-sporting firearms
Code of Federal Regulations Title 27, Volume 1, Section 178.39 - helps define non-sporting firearms as those having more than 10 parts from a named list of parts.

State Law

Each state has its own section of laws.

California Law

CPC 517(e) - Covering, removing, etc of serial numbers prohibited generally
CPC 626.9 - Carrying weapons generally prohibited in a school zone
CPC 12025 - Carrying concealed firearms generally prohibited unless exempted
CPC 12026 - Exemptions permitting carry of firearms in certain locations - loaded is not affected, governed strictly by CPC 12031.
CPC 12026.1 - Transportation exemptions from prohibition against carry for locked and unloaded weapons.
CPC 12026.2 - Transportation exemptions from prohibition against carry for locked and unloaded weapons.
CPC 12031 - General prohibition against loaded weapons in public
CPC 12050 - CCW issuance
CPC 12090 - Prohibition on removal of identifying marks
